The 2025 HALF CORKED MARATHON General Lottery is now close. Winners will be selected at random and contacted with the opportunity to purchase tickets.

Uncork Together in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country at the 17th annual Half Corked Marathon!

This unique run (route TBD, between 20-24km) weaves participants through the vineyards and valleys of the region’s iconic wine-growing areas, the Black Sage Road and Golden Mile, along with sections along the beautiful Okanagan River. Winery stations dot the route and the Finish Line Party, with the opportunity to engage with the region’s colourful characters as they pour samples for runners to enjoy. As always, creative costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best individual costume, best team and best skit.

Half Corked Marathon weekend also includes additional ticketed events such as the Primavera Party, a casual, long table dinner with live music on Friday May 30th, and Dinner at the Farm, an intimate, elegant multi-course feast on a winery location the evening following the run. Both events include transportation from Oliver and Osoyoos, dinner, wine and entertainment (separate tickets, not included in your race ticket).

SATURDAY ~ Half Corked Marathon

The annual Half Corked Marathon is a unique run that weaves participants through the vineyards and valleys of the region’s iconic wine-growing areas, the Black Sage and Golden Mile Benches, along with sections along the beautiful Okanagan River. Winery stations dot the route, with the opportunity to engage with the region’s colourful characters as they pour samples for runners to enjoy. Participants should plan that their wave time could be assigned at ANYTIME on Saturday morning and will have a maximum of 3.5 hours to complete the course.

Endorsed by BC Athletics, participants should be able to run 5km with some levels of incline over rugged terrain, in order to comfortably complete the route in the time allocated. As always, the Sag Wagon will be ready to assist guests who don’t reach the mid-way point before the cut off time, and transport them to the Party at the Finish Line.

SATURDAY ~ Party at the Finish Line

May 31st, 2025 | 11:00am – 3:00pm

Location: Oliver Community Park

The Party at the Finish Line is the ultimate celebration at the end of the run, and the chance to toast the start of summer with live music, food trucks and more wine tastings. Vancouver’s Paella Guys will return to offer a paella feast. Join the fun as we cheer on participants crossing the 2025 Half Corked Marathon Finish Line. In addition to live entertainment there will be food trucks on location, and wine sampling. General admission is free but you can purchase a wine tasting ticket that includes a souvenir glass to keep and five samples.

HALF CORKED MARATHON TICKET & EVENT DETAILS

The following terms and conditions apply to ALL Half Corked Marathon tickets and participants:

A. Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.

B. Tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE. .

C. By purchasing this ticket you agree to participate in the 2025 Half Corked Marathon as will be offered by Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country according to all Health & Safety protocols in place. Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association must operate within provincial and federal health and safety regulations and adhere to all public health orders; should changes to these regulations and orders require adaptation or changes to the outline of the event the ticket remains non-refundable.

D. By purchasing this ticket you agree to register IN PERSON on the Friday BEFORE the race; registration will take place between 11am and 7pm.  In person registration will follow within the provincially mandated social distancing and pandemic health and safety requirements. Failure to register in person will prevent you from participating in the marathon.

E. By purchasing a ticket you confirm you will be 19-years or older on the day of the race. Underage persons are not permitted to participate or be on the marathon course.

F. The marathon requires RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION throughout the entire course, participants who are over-consuming and deemed unsafe or unruly will be removed from the course, if a participants arrives to the course and is deemed to have already been excessively consuming they will not be permitted to join the marathon. Under these circumstances the participant will need to find their own transport back to their accommodations.

Half Corked Marathon Lottery Terms & Conditions

1. To qualify to enter the draw you must be of legal drinking age in the Province of British Columbia (19-years-old, at the date of the race) and provide a valid email address. The info you provide with your draw entry (Entry) will be used to contact you, so please ensure it is correctly entered. Misrepresentation will disqualify your ballot.

2. By entering the lottery and purchasing a ticket (if selected in the lottery) the purchaser understands that they will have to participate in an outdoor sporting festival and that they could be assigned to wave at anytime during the event day. The purchaser also agrees implicitly with all terms and conditions of the Half Corked Marathon ticket.

3. The purchaser understands that this is a running event and declares that they are physically able and do not have any health issues preventing them from running. The course is approximately 20-24 km you should be able to run at least 5 km to safely participate.

4. Only one entry (and purchase) per person is allowed; multiple entries will be disqualified. Entry does not guarantee eligibility to purchase. Lottery winners will be able to purchase ONE ticket and submit the name and email for ONE Friend to purchase a ticket.

5. By entering the lottery, entrants agree to be contacted by email, no other form of communication will be used to contact successful entrants.

6. The Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association is not responsible for entries and emails not received or misdirected. Please make sure that your name & email are entered correctly, you select subscribe on the entry form and that marathon@oliverosoyoos.com is on your safe sender list.

7. Lottery dates will be announced on the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country website, Facebook page and Instagram as well as our newsletter. Lottery dates are set for the upcoming Half Corked Marathon only.

8. The lottery will be open for no less than 4 days and no more than 7 days.

9. The lottery will be drawn within one week of the closing date and successful entrants will be contacted at the email on their entry.

10. Once contacted successful entrants will receive detailed instructions on how to submit contact information for their Friend as well as details on how to proceed in securing a reservation for the upcoming Half Corked Marathon.

11. Purchase can ONLY be made by the person and corresponding email address that received the lottery winner email. Winner confirmation is by UNIQUE email address.

12. Each successful lottery entrant will be permitted to invite one Friend to also purchase a ticket, email confirmation will provide a specific and limited timeframe in which to submit your Friend’s details. Names and emails not received during this timeframe will be ineligible. Lottery winners must have permission of their Friend to provide the email contact prior to submission.

13. You cannot enter the lottery on someone else’s behalf. If you are entering the lottery it must be your intention to participate in the 2025 Half Corked Marathon.

14. You cannot use the same email address for multiple people. Each person entering the lottery must have a UNIQUE email address.

15. Once reservation sales are announced tickets must be paid in full immediately and all tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable – no exceptions.

Can my 2025 Half Corked Marathon ticket be refunded?

No, as per the agreed upon terms and conditions at the time of purchase all tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable and term C provided for changes required due to the pandemic.

Why am I not getting emails about the Half Corked Marathon?

If you have previously participated and are not receiving emails it is because you have unsubscribed from Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country’s mailing lists. Please click newsletter sign-ups at the top of this page to resubscribe. All participants for the 2025 Half Corked Marathon will be verified as active or contacted to update their contact status. Make sure marathon@oliverosoyoos.com is on your safe senders list.

How do I purchase a ticket into the Half Corked Marathon?

The Half Corked Marathon is a high-demand event and tickets are not available for general purchase. Tickets are sold by lottery.

Are tickets refundable?

All ticket sales into the Half Corked Marathon are FINAL – the tickets are non-refundable. No exceptions.

Are tickets transferable?

All tickets into the Half Corked Marathon are FINAL – the tickets are non-transferable. No exceptions.

Can I buy a ticket from someone who is unable to participate?

No, all tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Participants were made aware of these terms prior to completing their ticket purchase. If someone is trying to sell you a ticket is will not be valid.

Are there other ways to get tickets into the Half Corked Marathon?

If your company is interested in sponsoring the Half Corked Marathon there are some sponsorship levels that offer tickets; please contact us at marathon@oliverosoyoos.com if you would like to know more about sponsoring the marathon.

What is included in my Half Corked Marathon ticket?

Tickets include race entry, transportation to the Start Line and pick-up from the finish line, lunch at the Finish Line, wine and food tastings along the race course, a welcome bag with exclusive offers from Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country wineries and event sponsors.

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

When do I need to register?

The policies for tickets are extremely clear all participants must register IN PERSON on Friday May 30th.  Participants may be provided with a designate window of time in which they can complete their registration. Failure to register during this time frame means that you will not be able to participate in the marathon.

Can a team member register for me?

No, all registrations must be completed by the specific individual participant we must visually approve each participants based on their photo ID.

What do I need to bring to registration?

Each participant must have TWO pieces of valid identification to register, at least one form of your ID must have a photo and be issued by a government organization. Additionally, you will need to bring your signed waiver – this document will be sent to all participants in the week leading up to the marathon.

When and how do I submit my team/group information?

For all people who want to be assigned to the same wave they must submit a team form, this includes spouses, siblings, and partners, regardless of if you are participating in the costume contest. Team forms will be sent to participants approximately 4 weeks prior to the race. The team form is the only format this information will be accepted in, please do not submit this information via email.

 

MARATHON INFORMATION

Do I have to be able to run to participate?

Yes. Endorsed by BC Athletics, participants should be able to run 5km with some levels of incline over rugged terrain, in order to comfortably complete the 24km route in the time allocated. As always, the Sag Wagon will be ready to assist guests who don’t reach the mid-way point before the cut off time, and transport them to the Party at the Finish Line.

How far is the marathon?

The race course varies slightly each year to incorporate as many wineries along the route as possible; however it is typically about 20-24 km in length. For 2025, the course includes both the Golden Mile and Black Sage Benches and involves rugged terrain, more hills and more scenic vistas of the valley and vineyard, it is physically more challenging that prior years.

How long do I have to complete the race?

Wave times will be staggered throughout the day and participants will have a maximum of 3.5 hours to complete the course within the pandemic protocols in place. (Protocols and restrictions will be shared with participants in advance of the marathon but will be changed and updated to correspond to evolving provincial and federal regulations).

Do I have to drink on the course?

The race is hosted in wine country and many of our wineries will be along the course to cheer you on and offer samples of their wines; however you are not obligated to drink and we encourage you to consume safely (that is, pace yourself along the route and at the Finish Line). Water stations will be provided along the route and we encourage you to drink water frequently.

Where is the Start Line?

Participants will be escorted to the Start Line, there is no option to self-drive or be dropped off at the Start Line. You will be picked up from one of the designated pick-up locations by bus.

Where is the Finish Line?

Both courses will finish at Oliver Community Park where your transport will escort you safely back to your pick-up location, As pandemic protocols evolve more information about the Finish Line and what will be taking place there will be shared. Participants will be advised if gatherings at the Finish Line become permissible, currently there are to be no open gatherings at the Finish Line.

Is there parking available?

There is no parking available at the Start Line or along the course; however there is parking available at the Finish Line. There will be transport available before the race for participants who need to get from the Finish Line to the Start Line. However, we encourage people to take transport directly from a nearby hotel in Osoyoos as we want everyone to get home from the event safely.

 

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

How do I get to the Start Line?

All participants will be escorted to the Start Line by race transportation. Currently pick-up locations include FOUR locations in Osoyoos (Spirit Ridge, Walnut Beach, Holiday Inn & Watermark) and ONE location in Oliver (Community Park);  and ONE location in Penticton (near South Okanagan Events Centre), The Penticton location will have LIMITED pick-ups if additional pick-up/drop-off locations are added we will update here and notify participants closer to the race date.

Is there parking available?

There is no parking available at the Start Line or along the course; however there is parking available at the Finish Line. There will be transport available before the race for participants who need to get from the Finish Line to the Start Line. However, we encourage people to take transport directly from a nearby hotel in Osoyoos as we want everyone to get home from the event safely.

What is the cost of transportation?

Transportation to the Start Line and from the Finish Line back to the designated sites is included in your registration fee. Transportation is limited to race participants only.

 

COSTUME & TEAM INFORMATION

Running with a team or group of friends? How do we ensure we are all placed together?

In May you will receive an email asking to register as a team. This registration will get you in the same wave.  You will be given your wave details in-person during your registration on the Friday of Half Corked Marathon Weekend.

Do we have to wear costumes?

No, costumes are no required however many people find they make the race more fun and there is a costume contest and prizes given out for the best and most creative costumes based on group size. Yes, there is an individual costume award.

 

FINISH LINE INFORMATION

Do I need to purchase a ticket for the Party! at the Finish Line?

The details of the Party! at the Finish Line are pending as pandemic restrictions continue to evolve. Whatever the festivities at the Finish Line, Half Corked Marathon participants DO NOT require an additional ticket. If friends and family spectators are permissible they WILL require a ticket to the Party! at the Finish Line.

Is lunch included?

As a race participant a picnic lunch at the Finish Line is included.

How to I get home from the Finish Line?

Transportation is included in your race registration, buses will be called by wave taking you back to your original pick-up location.

 

OTHER EVENTS

What is the Primavera Dinner?

The Primavera Dinner takes place on the Friday night prior to the race, transportation to the dinner is included in the ticket price, there is no parking on-site for this dinner. This is a ticketed event and while at least one person in the party must be a Half Corked Marathon participant they may purchase tickets for people who are not participating in the marathon.

Dinner is outdoors please dress appropriately – no high-heels and be prepared for evening temperatures to drop. As caters have limited services in the vineyard, no special dietary requests can be accommodated.

What is the Dinner at the Farm?

Dinner at the Farm takes place on the Saturday night following the marathon, transportation to the dinner is included in the ticket price, driving to the event is discouraged as there will be wine consumption through the evening. At this dinner you will have an opportunity to mingle directly with winemakers and winery owners. This is a ticketed event and while at least one person in the party must be a Half Corked Marathon participant they may purchase tickets for people who are not participating in the marathon.

This is an outdoor event please dress appropriately – no high-heels and be prepared for evening temperatures to drop. As caters have limited services in the vineyard, no special dietary requests can be accommodated.
